I rebuilt the business, and what followed was 20 years of deliberate growth — pioneering new technology into Australia, winning major contracts, growing into new markets and eventually acquiring a competitor.
By the time I sold to an ASX-listed company in 2021, the business had grown to just under $20M revenue with 60 staff.
Along the way I figured out how to build a business that didn’t depend on me being there every day.
The Result
That meant taking my family away sailing for months at a time — and coming back to a business that had kept moving.
Waymakers exists to help you do the same.
The Next Chapter
The marina deal which funded something that mattered.
In 2013 I also co-purchased a marina with a group of business partners, successfully developed it and achieved a profitable exit — with the majority of proceeds going to Safe Harbour Foundation, a charitable entity that funds education programs and the Golden Valleys Adventure Camp in Flinders, Victoria.
Sharing The Dream
Waymakers was launched in 2024 — and it exists because I believe more founders should be able to build a business that works without them carrying everything.
The tools, frameworks and rhythms that made that possible for me are exactly what I bring to every engagement.
Outside Of Work
Mornington Peninsula, family, and time on the water
I live on the Mornington Peninsula with my wife and three kids. When I’m not working with clients you’ll find me on the water — competitive sailing has been part of my life since I was young and it still is.
The same values that shaped my previous business — building something that lasts, developing people, doing business with integrity — are the foundation everything at Waymakers is built on.
